industry的两个常用易错意思

1. 用作名词，它有两个意思：一是表示“勤奋”“勤劳”（不可数），二是表示“工业”“产业”（泛指，不可数；指某类工业，可数）。如：

He won the prize through his industry. 他靠勤奋获奖。

One cannot succeed without industry. 不勤勉就不能成功。

New industries sprang up. 出现了许多新兴工业。

The country is supported by industry. 工业是该国的支柱。

2. 由于用名词时有两个不同的意思，所以派生出的形容词也不同：industrial（工业的），industrious（勤劳的）。如：

This is an industrial area. 这是工业区。

What industrious people they are! 他们真勤奋啊!
